Scenes from a life

Finally in the shop, the hurricane-delayed September mug! This hand-built ceramic mug looks like it was carved from a block of wood. It holds a good 12-13 ounces and with a slightly larger bottom is nice and sturdy for those of us who might be a little clumsy in the morning. Perfect for when you're raising your own chickens and don't want to reuse Styrofoam or cardboard crates (of course, it's perfectly fine too if you buy eggs at the store and take them out of the crates to show them off in a beautiful ceramic piece). These handpainted trays hold six eggs. I sold out of the green at Big Bang Bazaar but should have them restocked by the end of next week. None of Your Beeswax! This honey gold is sure to stick in your heart as one of your new favorites. This tonal, semi-solid colorway is great for complicated and simple patterns alike - either way, the deep rich tones are sure to turn heads wherever you go, whatever you make. And when your friends jealously ask if you're using it to make something for them? Tell them it's none of their beeswax - this loveliness is all yours! You can hoard this amazing color in all of my base yarns, spinning fiber, and now, buttons. The other week I mentioned maybe making some acorn-shaped soaps for the Fall (Fall is coming, right? Cooler weather? The end of Hurricane season?) and I also found my old maple leaf soap mold. So I'm thinking about making some of those as well, in special Fall/Maple-type fragrances... Did I post this already? Here's one of the last firings I rushed through right before Big Bang Bazaar at the end of August. I love, love, love those vases but unfortunately the glaze did something wacky on the inside and I need to reglaze them and put them through the kiln again. Some of the rest of these are restocks and some are new things that I'll be working on getting on the site as quickly as I can this week!
